Amitabh Bachchan Kapil Sharma together on KBC 8

Amitabh Bachchan, Kapil Sharma's Jugalbandi on KBC 8

Eighth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, which will go on air from August 17.

Their chemistry was crackling! Their barbs were hilarious! And their oneliners literally bowled over the audience who assembled here.

What do you expect when Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and superstar comedian Kapil Sharma join forces on the stage? Entertainment, entertainment and entertainment!

From taking potshots at each other to trading light-hearted barbs - both of them displayed their funny sides and made the audience double up with laughter on Saturday at the jam-packed Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre, which has a seating capacity of about 7,000 people.

The two, now described as the titans of Indian television - Big B for his over 14-year successful stint with KBC, and Kapil for entertaining with his hit show Comedy Nights With Kapil - were so enthralling that the audience stayed glued to their seats for over five hours.

The high point of the show was when Big B, marvelling at Kapil's humour, turned to the comedian's mother sitting in the audience and asked, Aaj main bhi aap se poochna chahta hoon ki aapne kya kha ke isse paida kiya tha?

Another funny moment was when Kapil's single status was enquired about and he turned the table by requesting Big B and saying, "Would you please be kind enough to take my proposal to actress Deepika Padukone?"

From shaking his leg to cracking jokes, Amitabh, known for organising stage shows abroad during his prime, was admirable in every sense of the word.

They complemented each other on the stage and their fans were delighted to see them letting their hair down, especially 71-year-old Mr Bachchan, who was in full form.

"This is my third time with Bachchan saab and whenever I work with him, I feel blessed." Kapil admitted being jittery about teaming up with Mr Bachchan, but praised him for "giving space"

Kapil, who also took the hot seat for a dummy round, said his father was a fan of KBC and he used to watch the game show with him.

The ace comedian also got emotional.

"My mother was sitting in the audience and I got emotional, but then I thought I have come here to entertain people."

Big B was a treat to watch and Kapil, known for his gift of the gab, increased the fun with his presence.

Amitabh Bachchan is upset with someone fashionably late

The crew of one of Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming project hit a wrong chord with the actor, when Big B arrived on the sets of the project, complete with routine make-up at 4 am, only to meet an unprepared crew.

Amitabh Bachchan is upset with someone ‘fashionably late’.The actor, who is known for his professionalism and punctuality, expressed his annoyance on his blog.

“There is a sadistic pleasure in getting up for work at 4 am and reporting on location with heavy make up routine, on time .. to find … well .. better unsaid than said .. It lends itself to a sense of labor and work ethic that is so essential in any profession .. ours more importantly, where it is a considered given, perhaps even if the phraseology often used calls it ‘fashionably late’ .. Why would it be ‘fashionable’ to be late ? I guess for a celebrity it would be a considered routine – build anxiety, expectation and notice, for when you do arrive at an un appointed hour, all gaze and attention would be drawn towards you .. which I would imagine is what celebrities crave for in any case ..”

The 72-year-old actor is simultaneously shooting for Anurag Kshyap’s TV series Yudh, whose first look was launched during the IPL 7 finale on June 1 and R Balki’s film ‘Shamitabh’.
‘Shamitabh’ also stars national award winning actor Dhanush and Kamaal Haasan’s daughter Akshara.

Amitabh Bachchan, who is hardly never not on time also said that celebrities should not take their fame, success and stardom for granted.
“What most forget or perhaps have never allowed for introspection, is the fact that attention has limited ‘lasts’, particularly so for those in the professions of film and sports .. up there one day and forgotten the next .. so what happens to the desire for committed attention, so arduously worked on during days of celebrity and value!”
He also posted, “All attention no matter how vast and intense, shall have limitations. It is wise and prudent at times to consider this during the times of time. The greatest attention seekers in the universe have faced reversals. Not all though have had the courage to accept it .. it is imperative that you do. Or at least have the strength to do so. Do not gloat in the presence of success and achievement. They are temporary and limited. One wishes that they survive to endless limits, but one also wishes that they be considered wishes .. I try to ..”

Cheating heart: Men who stray

Wayne Rooney

Cheating heart: Men who stray
To everyone the marriage between the poster boy of the English football team and his childhood sweetheart Coleen McLoughlin seemed perfect till the day the news of his alleged sexual romps with a prostitute Jennifer Thompson surfaced. Rooney is believed to have bedded Jennifer in September 2009 when Coleen was pregnant with their son Kai.

Some days later, another prostitute Helen Wood claimed that she too was part of Rooney's romps and had a threesome along with him and Jennifer.

Meanwhile a British Airways stewardess Rebecca Haynes revealed that Rooney had once repeatedly made advances at her at a pub on a stag night and she turned him down each time.

More skeletons are expected to tumble out from the cupboard a la the Tiger Woods controversy.

Saurav Ganguly

Cheating heart: Men who stray

In the year 2000, India's two favourite pastimes - cricket and films - came together in the most scandalous manner. Cricketer Sourav Ganguly who was married to wife Dona, was reported to be having an affair with actress Nagma. The affair came to an end soon after. Nagma said they broke up because they didn't want to hurt his career. Sourav didn't say much - he just took off his shirt instead. This time, it was on the field.

Jude Law

Cheating heart: Men who stray

Jude Law was dating actress Sienna Miller, but apparently that wasn't enough to keep him occupied. No, he chose to spend more time than necessary with Daisy Wright, the nanny for his children with ex-wife Sadie Frost.

Amitabh Bachchan

Cheating heart: Men who stray

Amitabh Bachchan and his alleged affair with Rekha may just go down in history as one of our top unsolved mysteries. For years, the country has speculated on their status, cameras at award functions have panned over their faces in succession and even now many claim it's the worst-kept secret in Bollywood. The real truth? We'll probably never know.

Mel Gibson

Cheating heart: Men who stray

Mel and Robyn Gibson, who married in 1980, have seven kids -- and now, a Hollywood divorce. Robyn filed for divorce in April, citing the ever-popular "irreconcilable differences." We wonder if those "differences" included Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva, who just gave birth to Mel's eighth child.

Hrithik Roshan

Cheating heart: Men who stray

A few months ago, the grapevine was buzzing about Hrithik's alleged liaison with his co-star Barbara Mori. While neither party confirmed the hook-up (duh!), Hrithik did take one drastic step to declare his love for wife Susanne - he got her name tattooed on his wrist. The jury's still out on whether this was an act of love or atonement.

Brad Pitt

Cheating heart: Men who stray

Brad took up with costar Angelina on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Too bad Mrs. Pitt -- otherwise known as Jennifer Aniston was also in the picture. Not for long -- Brad dumped Jen in 2005, and Brangelina was born.

Shiney AhujaShiney Ahuja

Cheating heart: Men who stray

While many men in Bollywood cheat, Shiney had the misfortune of doing so with his maid, who then went and charged him with rape. Shiney first denied everything, then conceded that it was consensual and in all the confusion, he landed up in jail. The man was recently released on bail. We're guessing his current domestic help is only of the masculine sex.

Hugh Grant

Cheating heart: Men who stray

Hugh Grant sure was caught with his pants down -- literally -- with prostitute Divine Brown. The world wondered why he was hanging with a hooker when he had actress Elizabeth Hurley -- who showed off her hot bod in a Versace safety pin dress on the red carpet -- at home.

Silvio Berlusconi
Cheating heart: Men who stray

The longest serving prime minister of Italy and one of the richest men in the world also has a very interesting love life. In April of this year, his wife filed for divorce on the grounds that she couldn't stay with a man who consorts with younger girls and "is not well". His most high profile link up was with model Noemi Letizia. Many more have been known to occur.

I Am A Proud Mumbaikar, I Never Opposed Development, Writes Big B

Img

Mumbai: Under attack from political parties for his comments on Mumbai metro, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Wednesday said that being a "proud Mumbaikar" he never opposed the development of the city.

The 67-year-old star claimed that his comments on his blog regarding the proposed metro track invading his privacy were misinterpreted by the media.

"Mumbai as a city has given my family and me a place in their hearts besides recognition and respect. My family and I have never, and at no point of time would ever, like to disregard the conveniences of my fellow Mumbaikars and the development being undertaken for a better future for the city and them," Bachchan said in a statement posted on his blog.

He said his post on the matter clearly talks about the "general happiness" that metro will bring to the commuters.

"Indeed I have ended the piece by saying welcome 'fellow passengers'. By fellow passenger I include myself as one," said Bachchan, adding, "I am proud to be a Mumbaikar and I welcome the changes which are being seen in the city."

Bachchan said that he requested everyone visiting his blog to read it in it's entirety rather than pick up words and fabricate stories which create unnecessary sensation.

In the post that created such furore, Bachchan had said: "It is finally happening. The Metro rail being laid over the metropolis called Mumbai, some under the ground, some above over large tracts of cement structures is taking shape. There is general happiness from the commuters, for, the misery of crowded locals and the uncertainties of the three-wheeler or the yellow-black cab shall hopefully be greatly reduced.

"But here is the killer! it's going to roll over Prateeksha! So bye bye privacy and hello fellow traveller."

But after his comments were published in the media, they drew flak from political parties such as Shiv Sena, Congress and MNS.

Mumbai suburban guardian minister Naseem Khan of Congress said, "His remarks are very unfortunate. He should care for interests of other people also. Why should the convenience of one person take precedence over that of lakhs of commuters."

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said everyone wanted privacy but convenience of the people cannot be ignored.

MNS spokesperson Nitin Sardesai said development projects could not be stopped for the sake of an individual. If Bachchan did not object when the project was approved, then why is he doing so now, he asked.

The Maharashtra Government has decided to build the 32 km long Charkop-Bandra-Maknkurd metro route through MMRDA and 22 lakh passengers will benefit.

"Bachchan is a celebrity. But is it okay to criticise the entire project just because it hampers one's privacy? His bungalow is not being affected. It is just that the route will pass through the area," Khan said.
